My latest project

To keep it simple, my latest project is about 'that awkward moment', when two (unrelated) people pass in the street, and catch eachothers eyes. It is a project that I feel is getting better, and extremely interesting as its going along. It's a mix of street photography, with a slight intention of knowing what I actually want to capture.

Thats not to say that my images are set up, by any stretch of the imagination. It is infact the lack of control of the situation that I enjoy. The moments for me have to be genuine to become good pictures. Theres just something about the unplanned'ness of some of the images I've taken that really appeals to myself, and from the critique I've had today, it is also what other people like about my images.

This is one of my favourite images that I have taken lately. Again it is the unplanned element that stands out to me. The contrast between an aware being, and the none aware around them that for me just makes the picture. Taking the picture before the subject has time to react for me is important, I want them to know that I'm their (for the eye contact), but not have enough time to 'react' as such. The images would be completely different if I waited for a reaction. It is capturing them before this reaction that I have aimed at doing because it is this exact moment, that for me can sometimes be heartracing. When this happens in life, many people feel an awkward strange feeling. I am interested in why, as it happens all the time for me, without any control,  and by 'freezing' this moment, I am personally looking at it and trying to work out why it is that I react the way I do when it happens.

ANYWAYS thats enough for now, dont want to say too much about my project, as the main aim of the project is to involve the viewer in this moment, and ask about their reaction to the moment and so forth.
